What’s new in Spekco
We ship constantly and used to say nothing about it. Every change that affects your day now gets written up here — what it does, where to find it, and whether you need to do anything about it.
Your day now ends at your midnight, on every report
A shop in Hawaii caught something that affected every shop: Spekco was ending your day, and your month, on a worldwide clock instead of your own. Sales after a certain hour counted toward the next day on the dashboard, the Analytics summaries and in the finance email’s tax line. Fixed everywhere. Your totals are the same; some of them have moved to the day they belonged to.

Warranty repairs: the manufacturer gets the bill, and your customer never sees a price
Spekco now handles repairs someone else pays for: a manufacturer’s warranty or a service plan. Choose who’s paying when the repair comes in, and every repair line is billed to them on a claim. Your customer still gets every update, with no prices in it and no estimate to approve. Send the claim with the proof of purchase, record what the payer sends you, and see what every payer owes you on one page. It’s off until you turn it on.

A text when a ticket is handed to you, one place for your team’s alerts, and a signed hand-over for paid repairs
Technicians can now get a text when someone else assigns them a ticket. How your team hears about new work has one home: Team alerts for what the shop decides, and an Alerts tab on every profile for what each person decides. And a repair the customer has already paid for can now be handed over properly: a quick check, their signature and a pickup receipt. The finance export now carries your shop’s name and an order and ticket number on every row.

Your bookkeeper’s finance report, emailed on a schedule
Admins can now have the finance export emailed to their bookkeeper every day, week or month, at the hour they choose. Each email covers the period that just ended and carries the same file as the Export button, with sales, refunds and tax totalled in the email.

One press to print everything, notes on every repair, and an estimate that knows what’s paid
Receipts, ticket slips and labels print with one press. Techs write down what they did on each labor line, and customers see it on the receipt and invoice. New Ticket checks the customer’s details before you start, and the estimate shows what’s paid and what’s still due. Plus partial refunds, updates that send themselves, and delivery times customers pick.

Schedule a status change, and know which customers are waiting to hear
Finish a repair now and have the ticket move — and the customer be told — at the time you choose. Get reminded, on the ticket and in the bell, when a customer has heard nothing for a few days. And the list headers now sort the whole list, not just the page on screen.

The Knowledge Base: what your shop already knows
Every repair your shop writes up becomes searchable from the ticket you are on, and the ones you have already finished are indexed the day this arrives. Plus somewhere to keep the procedures that are true whatever is on the bench, a straight answer to who is actually writing things down — and review requests, which have been quietly working for a fortnight.

Dispatch: send a technician to the customer
A new kind of work for your shop — book a technician's visit to the customer's door while they are still on the phone. Plus: customers can text the technician who has their repair, and New Ticket asks its questions in the order you do.
