Software for car audio and electronics shops

Ticket workflow automation and a fully integrated point of sale, in one system.

An install shop sells the product and the labor to fit it, and books a bay to do it in. Spekco puts the head unit, the harness and the two hours of labor on one ticket and one receipt.

Workflow automation

You do the repair. The ticket does the telling.

One car, from the counter to the register. Five things you did, and no message typed.

  • On a long repair, Spekco can send progress updates by itself, so the customer does not have to call and ask.
  • Finish a repair now and schedule the status change: the ticket moves, and the customer is told, at the time you choose.
  • Every notification is included on every plan. There is no charge per message.
  • On Pro, the follow-up runs too: a message after the repair, a reminder when service is due, and an invitation to customers who have not been back.
  1. 1. You pick your Head Unit Install template

The ticket fills in with its parts, labor and checklist. The customer is emailed that you have their car, with a page where they can follow it.

  2. 2. You set the status to Waiting on Parts

They are told you are waiting on the install kit.

  3. 3. You send the estimate

They approve it online, and the approval is recorded on the ticket.

  4. 4. You set the status to Ready for Pickup

They are told their car is ready.

  5. 5. You take the payment at the register

    They are emailed a receipt.

Integrated point of sale

One register for the repair and the sale

A head unit, its install kit and the labor to fit it are one sale, on one receipt.

  • The repair is paid at the same register that sells your products. There is no second system, and nothing is typed twice.
  • A part fitted on a repair and a product sold at the counter come off the same stock count.
  • From the ticket, one button takes you to the register with the balance already in the sale.

Head units, speakers, amplifiers, cameras and cables sell from the same register as the installation.

The register is on every plan. How the register works →

The jobs you take in

  • Head unit installation
  • Speaker and amplifier installation
  • Remote start
  • Backup cameras and dash cameras
  • Alarm systems
  • Lighting
  • Troubleshooting electrical faults
  • Removing equipment before a sale

What to write down at the counter

Whatever you use to run your shop, record these before the customer leaves.

  • Year, make, model and VIN
  • How many keys and fobs were left
  • Marks on the dash and trim, with photos
  • Factory equipment the customer wants kept
  • Parts the customer supplied
  • The time you promised it back

How a job runs in Spekco

Step 1

Product and labor on one estimate

Put the equipment, the install kit and the labor on one estimate and send it by email. The customer approves online before the car arrives.

Step 2

Photograph the dash first

Attach photos of the dash, the trim and the door panels to the ticket. What was already scratched is on record before a panel comes off.

Step 3

Kits and harnesses counted

Each kit used on a job comes off your stock count, the same count the register sells from.

Pickup, delivery and dispatch

For the work that does not walk in the door.

Pickup

You collect the item from the customer's address. Spekco checks the address against your service radius and adds the fee to the ticket, flat or per mile.

Delivery

The repaired item goes back to the customer's door in a delivery window you set. The customer can choose the time from a link.

Dispatch

A technician goes to the customer, for a trip fee you set. The customer is asked to confirm the visit, reminded the day before, and told when the technician is on the way, with an arrival time.

All three are on Pro, and each is a setting you turn on for the locations that offer it.

On every plan

  • Service tickets and workflow
  • Point of sale register
  • Customer portal with ticket tracking
  • Online estimate approval and invoice payment
  • Parts and inventory
  • Automated email notifications

The plan that usually fits

Pro, $59.99 a month

An install shop books its bays, and appointments are on Pro, with 25 staff accounts and 250 tickets a month included. Basic covers two people and walk-in work.

What it does not do

Spekco has no vehicle fit guide. It does not tell you which harness or kit fits which car.

Questions

Can I book installs by the bay?
On Pro, yes. Appointments have slots, and you set how many jobs each slot will take.
Can I put parts and labor on the same ticket?
Yes. A ticket holds parts from your stock and labor lines, and both are on the invoice.
Can I note equipment the customer supplied?
Yes, in the intake notes or a field of your own. It stays on the ticket.
