Software for small engine repair shops
Ticket workflow automation and a fully integrated point of sale, in one system.
Every mower in town needs you in the same three weeks of spring. Spekco keeps the queue in order of what you promised, puts the estimate to the customer before you spend an hour on a machine worth less than the repair, and tells them when it is ready.

Workflow automation
You do the repair. The ticket does the telling.
One mower, from the counter to the register. Five things you did, and no message typed.
- On a long repair, Spekco can send progress updates by itself, so the customer does not have to call and ask.
- Finish a repair now and schedule the status change: the ticket moves, and the customer is told, at the time you choose.
- Every notification is included on every plan. There is no charge per message.
- On Pro, the follow-up runs too: a message after the repair, a reminder when service is due, and an invitation to customers who have not been back.
1. You pick your Mower Tune-Up template
The ticket fills in with its parts, labor and checklist. The customer is emailed that you have their mower, with a page where they can follow it.
2. You set the status to Waiting on Parts
They are told you are waiting on a carburetor kit.
3. You send the estimate
They approve it online, and the approval is recorded on the ticket.
4. You set the status to Ready for Pickup
They are told their mower is ready.
5. You take the payment at the register
They are emailed a receipt.
Integrated point of sale
One register for the repair and the sale
A tune-up, a blade and a quart of oil are one sale, on one receipt.
- The repair is paid at the same register that sells your products. There is no second system, and nothing is typed twice.
- A part fitted on a repair and a product sold at the counter come off the same stock count.
- From the ticket, one button takes you to the register with the balance already in the sale.
Oil, blades, spark plugs, belts, chains and trimmer line sell from the same register as the repair.
The register is on every plan. How the register works →
The jobs you take in

What to write down at the counter
Whatever you use to run your shop, record these before the customer leaves.
- Make, model and serial number of the unit, and of the engine
- What was left with it: bagger, chute, battery, key
- How old the fuel is
- Hours, if it has a meter
- What it does: will not start, surges, smokes
- How much the customer will spend before you must call
How a job runs in Spekco
Step 1
A queue you can trust in April
Give each ticket a priority and a promised date and sort the queue by them. The counter can tell a customer where they stand without walking to the back.
Step 2
Ask before the repair costs more than the machine
Send the estimate by email. The customer approves or declines online, and the answer is on the ticket. A declined mower is charged its bench fee and goes home.
Step 3
Plugs, belts and blades on hand
Parts used on a ticket come off your stock count. Set a minimum for the parts you cannot run out of in season and you are warned in time to reorder.
Pickup, delivery and dispatch
For the work that does not walk in the door.
Pickup
You collect the item from the customer's address. Spekco checks the address against your service radius and adds the fee to the ticket, flat or per mile.
Delivery
The repaired item goes back to the customer's door in a delivery window you set. The customer can choose the time from a link.
Dispatch
A technician goes to the customer, for a trip fee you set. The customer is asked to confirm the visit, reminded the day before, and told when the technician is on the way, with an arrival time.
All three are on Pro, and each is a setting you turn on for the locations that offer it.
On every plan
- Service tickets and workflow
- Point of sale register
- Customer portal with ticket tracking
- Online estimate approval and invoice payment
- Parts and inventory
- Automated email notifications
The plan that usually fits
Pro, $59.99 a month
A seasonal shop usually wants Pro: 250 tickets a month included, a pickup service for equipment too big for a customer's car, and maintenance reminders for next year's service. Basic covers two people and 25 tickets.
What it does not do
Spekco has no manufacturer's parts diagrams. You find the part number with your supplier and add the part to the ticket.
Questions
- Can I collect a riding mower from the customer?
- On Pro, yes. The pickup service lets a customer book a collection within the distance you set, for a flat fee or a fee per mile.
- Can I remind customers to service their equipment each year?
- On Pro, yes. Spekco keeps a record of each customer's equipment and sends maintenance reminders by email.
- What happens in a month when I write 400 tickets?
- Nothing stops. Pro includes 250 tickets and each one after that is $0.20, so that month costs $30 more.
