Software for cell phone repair shops

Ticket workflow automation and a fully integrated point of sale, in one system.

Most phone repairs are done the same day, and most of the calls you take are people asking whether theirs is. Spekco keeps the ticket, the part and the payment in one place, and tells the customer when the phone is ready.

Workflow automation

You do the repair. The ticket does the telling.

One phone, from the counter to the register. Five things you did, and no message typed.

  • On a long repair, Spekco can send progress updates by itself, so the customer does not have to call and ask.
  • Finish a repair now and schedule the status change: the ticket moves, and the customer is told, at the time you choose.
  • Every notification is included on every plan. There is no charge per message.
  • On Pro, the follow-up runs too: a message after the repair, a reminder when service is due, and an invitation to customers who have not been back.
  1. 1. You pick your Screen Replacement template

The ticket fills in with its parts, labor and checklist. The customer is emailed that you have their phone, with a page where they can follow it.

  2. 2. You set the status to Waiting on Parts

They are told you are waiting on the screen.

  3. 3. You send the estimate

They approve it online, and the approval is recorded on the ticket.

  4. 4. You set the status to Ready for Pickup

They are told their phone is ready.

  5. 5. You take the payment at the register

    They are emailed a receipt.

Integrated point of sale

One register for the repair and the sale

A screen repair and a case are one sale, on one receipt.

  • The repair is paid at the same register that sells your products. There is no second system, and nothing is typed twice.
  • A part fitted on a repair and a product sold at the counter come off the same stock count.
  • From the ticket, one button takes you to the register with the balance already in the sale.

Cases, screen protectors, chargers and cables ring up on the same register as the repair, on one receipt.

The register is on every plan. How the register works →

The jobs you take in

What to write down at the counter

Whatever you use to run your shop, record these before the customer leaves.

  • Make, model and color
  • IMEI or serial number
  • The passcode, if the customer agrees to give it
  • Condition before you touch it: cracks, dents, the water indicator
  • What is wrong, in the customer's own words
  • Whether the data is backed up

How a job runs in Spekco

Step 1

Check in in under a minute

Pick the device from your catalog, note its condition and photograph the screen before you open it. The customer leaves with a ticket number and a page where they can follow the repair.

Step 2

Quote before you open it

Send the estimate by email. The customer approves or declines it online, and the answer is recorded on the ticket with the time they gave it.

Step 3

Parts come out of stock as you use them

Add the screen or the battery to the ticket and your count drops by one. Set a minimum for each part and you are warned before the last one is gone.

Pickup, delivery and dispatch

For the work that does not walk in the door.

Pickup

You collect the item from the customer's address. Spekco checks the address against your service radius and adds the fee to the ticket, flat or per mile.

Delivery

The repaired item goes back to the customer's door in a delivery window you set. The customer can choose the time from a link.

Dispatch

A technician goes to the customer, for a trip fee you set. The customer is asked to confirm the visit, reminded the day before, and told when the technician is on the way, with an arrival time.

All three are on Pro, and each is a setting you turn on for the locations that offer it.

On every plan

  • Service tickets and workflow
  • Point of sale register
  • Customer portal with ticket tracking
  • Online estimate approval and invoice payment
  • Parts and inventory
  • Automated email notifications

The plan that usually fits

Pro, $59.99 a month

Basic covers one counter and two people, with 25 tickets a month included and $0.20 for each one after that. A busy phone counter usually wants Pro: 250 tickets included, 25 staff accounts, and text messages to customers.

What it does not do

Spekco records an IMEI; it does not check one against a blocklist or unlock a carrier. That check is still yours to run.

Questions

Can I record the IMEI and the passcode on the ticket?
Yes. Add them as custom fields and they appear at check-in on every ticket. You choose which fields the customer can see and which stay with staff.
How does the customer know the phone is ready?
Spekco emails them when the ticket's status changes, on every plan. On Pro it can send a text message as well.
Can I sell accessories from the same system?
Yes. The register is on every plan. It sells accessories and takes repair payments in one sale.
