Workflow automation

You do the repair. The ticket does the telling.

One motorcycle, from the counter to the register. Five things you did, and no message typed.

  • On a long repair, Spekco can send progress updates by itself, so the customer does not have to call and ask.
  • Finish a repair now and schedule the status change: the ticket moves, and the customer is told, at the time you choose.
  • Every notification is included on every plan. There is no charge per message.
  • On Pro, the follow-up runs too: a message after the repair, a reminder when service is due, and an invitation to customers who have not been back.
  1. 1. You pick your Oil Service template

The ticket fills in with its parts, labor and checklist. The customer is emailed that you have their motorcycle, with a page where they can follow it.

  2. 2. You set the status to Waiting on Parts

They are told you are waiting on a set of tires.

  3. 3. You send the estimate

They approve it online, and the approval is recorded on the ticket.

  4. 4. You set the status to Ready for Pickup

They are told their motorcycle is ready.

  5. 5. You take the payment at the register

    They are emailed a receipt.

Integrated point of sale

One register for the repair and the sale

An oil service and a helmet are one sale, on one receipt.

  • The repair is paid at the same register that sells your products. There is no second system, and nothing is typed twice.
  • A part fitted on a repair and a product sold at the counter come off the same stock count.
  • From the ticket, one button takes you to the register with the balance already in the sale.

Oil, tires, batteries, helmets and riding gear sell from the same register as the service work.

The register is on every plan. How the register works →

The jobs you take in

  • Oil and filter service
  • Tire changes
  • Carburetor and fuel injection service
  • Valve adjustment
  • Brake service
  • Chain and sprocket replacement
  • Winterizing and storage preparation
  • Crash repair estimates

What to write down at the counter

Whatever you use to run your shop, record these before the customer leaves.

  • Year, make, model and VIN
  • Mileage or hours
  • Keys and accessories left with it
  • Fuel level
  • Damage already on it, with photos
  • How much the customer will spend before you must call

How a job runs in Spekco

Step 1

Walk around it with a camera

Attach photos of each side to the ticket at check-in. Scratches and dents are recorded before the machine goes on the lift.

Step 2

Estimates the customer signs off online

Send parts and labor as an estimate by email. The customer approves or declines online, and extra work found later goes to them the same way.

Step 3

Service parts in stock

Oil, filters, plugs and pads used on a ticket come off your count. You are warned when a part falls below the minimum you set.

Pickup, delivery and dispatch

For the work that does not walk in the door.

Pickup

You collect the item from the customer's address. Spekco checks the address against your service radius and adds the fee to the ticket, flat or per mile.

Delivery

The repaired item goes back to the customer's door in a delivery window you set. The customer can choose the time from a link.

Dispatch

A technician goes to the customer, for a trip fee you set. The customer is asked to confirm the visit, reminded the day before, and told when the technician is on the way, with an arrival time.

All three are on Pro, and each is a setting you turn on for the locations that offer it.

On every plan

  • Service tickets and workflow
  • Point of sale register
  • Customer portal with ticket tracking
  • Online estimate approval and invoice payment
  • Parts and inventory
  • Automated email notifications

The plan that usually fits

Pro, $59.99 a month

A shop with technicians and a parts counter usually wants Pro: 25 staff accounts, 250 tickets a month included, and appointments for service bookings. Basic covers two people.

What it does not do

Spekco does not decode a VIN or look up labor times in a flat-rate guide. You record the VIN as a field and price the labor yourself.

Questions

Can I record the VIN and the mileage?
Yes. Add them as fields and they are asked for at every check-in.
Can customers book a service in advance?
On Pro, yes. Pro has appointments, with the number of bookings you will take in each slot.
Can I sell parts and gear from the same system?
Yes. The register is on every plan and sells products and takes service payments in one sale.
