Software for electronics repair shops

Ticket workflow automation and a fully integrated point of sale, in one system.

Electronics repair means big items, slow parts, and a customer weighing the repair against a new one. Spekco puts the estimate in front of them early and tells you where every item in the back room stands.

Workflow automation

You do the repair. The ticket does the telling.

One TV, from the counter to the register. Five things you did, and no message typed.

  • On a long repair, Spekco can send progress updates by itself, so the customer does not have to call and ask.
  • Finish a repair now and schedule the status change: the ticket moves, and the customer is told, at the time you choose.
  • Every notification is included on every plan. There is no charge per message.
  • On Pro, the follow-up runs too: a message after the repair, a reminder when service is due, and an invitation to customers who have not been back.
  1. 1. You pick your Backlight Repair template

The ticket fills in with its parts, labor and checklist. The customer is emailed that you have their TV, with a page where they can follow it.

  2. 2. You set the status to Waiting on Parts

They are told you are waiting on the LED strips.

  3. 3. You send the estimate

They approve it online, and the approval is recorded on the ticket.

  4. 4. You set the status to Ready for Pickup

They are told their TV is ready.

  5. 5. You take the payment at the register

    They are emailed a receipt.

Integrated point of sale

One register for the repair and the sale

A TV repair and a wall mount are one sale, on one receipt.

  • The repair is paid at the same register that sells your products. There is no second system, and nothing is typed twice.
  • A part fitted on a repair and a product sold at the counter come off the same stock count.
  • From the ticket, one button takes you to the register with the balance already in the sale.

Remotes, cables, mounts and refurbished sets sell from the same register as the repair.

The register is on every plan. How the register works →

The jobs you take in

  • TV backlight repair
  • Power supply and main board replacement
  • HDMI and input faults
  • Receiver and amplifier repair
  • Soundbar and speaker repair
  • Projector lamp and optics
  • Vintage electronics restoration
  • Remote and accessory replacement

What to write down at the counter

Whatever you use to run your shop, record these before the customer leaves.

  • Make, model and serial number
  • What came with it: stand, remote, cables
  • Damage to the screen or case, with a photo
  • The symptom: no power, no picture, lines, sound only
  • Where it is stored: shelf or bay
  • How much the customer will spend before you must call

How a job runs in Spekco

Step 1

Know where it is

Add a field for the shelf or bay and fill it in at check-in. A 65-inch TV is found by its ticket, not by whoever remembers carrying it in.

Step 2

Estimate against the price of a new one

Send the estimate by email as soon as you have a diagnosis. The customer approves or declines online, so an item nobody will pay to fix does not sit for a month.

Step 3

Boards and backlights on order

Set the ticket to Waiting for Parts and it leaves your working queue until the part arrives. The customer sees the same status you do.

Pickup, delivery and dispatch

For the work that does not walk in the door.

Pickup

You collect the item from the customer's address. Spekco checks the address against your service radius and adds the fee to the ticket, flat or per mile.

Delivery

The repaired item goes back to the customer's door in a delivery window you set. The customer can choose the time from a link.

Dispatch

A technician goes to the customer, for a trip fee you set. The customer is asked to confirm the visit, reminded the day before, and told when the technician is on the way, with an arrival time.

All three are on Pro, and each is a setting you turn on for the locations that offer it.

On every plan

  • Service tickets and workflow
  • Point of sale register
  • Customer portal with ticket tracking
  • Online estimate approval and invoice payment
  • Parts and inventory
  • Automated email notifications

The plan that usually fits

Basic, $29.99 a month

One location and two people fit Basic: 25 tickets a month included, then $0.20 each. Pro adds a pickup service, for shops that collect large items from customers.

Questions

Can I record where an item is stored?
Yes. Add a custom field for the shelf or bay. It is shown on the ticket and can be kept from the customer's view.
Can I collect a TV from the customer's home?
On Pro, yes. The pickup service lets a customer book a collection within the distance you set, for a fee you set.
What if the customer declines the estimate?
The decline is recorded on the ticket. You can charge the diagnostic fee at the register and close it.
