Software for watch and clock repair

Ticket workflow automation and a fully integrated point of sale, in one system.

A watch repair is either five minutes for a battery or eight weeks for a service. Spekco handles both: a quick sale at the register, or a ticket with an estimate, a part on order and a customer kept informed.

Workflow automation

You do the repair. The ticket does the telling.

One watch, from the counter to the register. Five things you did, and no message typed.

  • On a long repair, Spekco can send progress updates by itself, so the customer does not have to call and ask.
  • Finish a repair now and schedule the status change: the ticket moves, and the customer is told, at the time you choose.
  • Every notification is included on every plan. There is no charge per message.
  • On Pro, the follow-up runs too: a message after the repair, a reminder when service is due, and an invitation to customers who have not been back.
  1. 1. You pick your Full Service template

The ticket fills in with its parts, labor and checklist. The customer is emailed that you have their watch, with a page where they can follow it.

  2. 2. You set the status to Waiting on Parts

They are told you are waiting on a crystal.

  3. 3. You send the estimate

They approve it online, and the approval is recorded on the ticket.

  4. 4. You set the status to Ready for Pickup

They are told their watch is ready.

  5. 5. You take the payment at the register

    They are emailed a receipt.

Integrated point of sale

One register for the repair and the sale

A service and a new strap are one sale, on one receipt.

  • The repair is paid at the same register that sells your products. There is no second system, and nothing is typed twice.
  • A part fitted on a repair and a product sold at the counter come off the same stock count.
  • From the ticket, one button takes you to the register with the balance already in the sale.

Batteries fitted while the customer waits, straps and bracelets sell at the register without a ticket.

What to write down at the counter

Whatever you use to run your shop, record these before the customer leaves.

  • Brand, model, reference and serial number
  • Case and bracelet material
  • Scratches and the state of the crystal, with photos
  • Whether it runs, and how well it keeps time
  • What came with it: box, papers, spare links
  • The value the customer states

How a job runs in Spekco

Step 1

Record it before it goes in the drawer

Serial number, photos and the customer's signature go on the ticket at take-in. Spare links and the box are listed beside them.

Step 2

A service estimate the owner approves

After inspection, send the estimate by email. The customer approves or declines online, and nothing is ordered until they do.

Step 3

Watches by mail

Spekco has a mail-in workflow: a shipping label for the customer, a scan when the parcel arrives, and tracking on the way back.

Pickup, delivery and dispatch

For the work that does not walk in the door.

Pickup

You collect the item from the customer's address. Spekco checks the address against your service radius and adds the fee to the ticket, flat or per mile.

Delivery

The repaired item goes back to the customer's door in a delivery window you set. The customer can choose the time from a link.

Dispatch

A technician goes to the customer, for a trip fee you set. The customer is asked to confirm the visit, reminded the day before, and told when the technician is on the way, with an arrival time.

All three are on Pro, and each is a setting you turn on for the locations that offer it.

On every plan

  • Service tickets and workflow
  • Point of sale register
  • Customer portal with ticket tracking
  • Online estimate approval and invoice payment
  • Parts and inventory
  • Automated email notifications

The plan that usually fits

Basic, $29.99 a month

One watchmaker and a counter fit Basic. A battery fitted at the counter is a sale, not a ticket: Basic includes 100 sales and 25 tickets a month.

What it does not do

Spekco does not authenticate a watch or print an appraisal. It records what you were handed and what you did.

Questions

Do quick battery changes use up my tickets?
Not if you ring them up as a sale. Sales and tickets are counted separately: Basic includes 100 sales and 25 tickets a month.
Can I take repairs by mail?
Yes. Spekco has a mail-in workflow with shipping labels and tracking in both directions.
Can I list the box and papers left with a watch?
Yes. Add a field for what came with it, or write it in the intake notes.
