Software for eyeglass repair shops

Ticket workflow automation and a fully integrated point of sale, in one system.

Most frame repairs take minutes, and many arrive in an envelope. Spekco writes the ticket quickly, tracks the parcel in and out, and tells the customer when their glasses are on the way back.

Workflow automation

You do the repair. The ticket does the telling.

One glasses, from the counter to the register. Five things you did, and no message typed.

  • On a long repair, Spekco can send progress updates by itself, so the customer does not have to call and ask.
  • Finish a repair now and schedule the status change: the ticket moves, and the customer is told, at the time you choose.
  • Every notification is included on every plan. There is no charge per message.
  • On Pro, the follow-up runs too: a message after the repair, a reminder when service is due, and an invitation to customers who have not been back.
  1. 1. You pick your Hinge Repair template

The ticket fills in with its parts, labor and checklist. The customer is emailed that you have their glasses, with a page where they can follow it.

  2. 2. You set the status to Waiting on Parts

They are told you are waiting on a hinge.

  3. 3. You send the estimate

They approve it online, and the approval is recorded on the ticket.

  4. 4. You set the status to Ready for Pickup

They are told their glasses is ready.

  5. 5. You take the payment at the register

    They are emailed a receipt.

Integrated point of sale

One register for the repair and the sale

A hinge repair and a new case are one sale, on one receipt.

  • The repair is paid at the same register that sells your products. There is no second system, and nothing is typed twice.
  • A part fitted on a repair and a product sold at the counter come off the same stock count.
  • From the ticket, one button takes you to the register with the balance already in the sale.

Cases, cloths, nose pads and repair kits sell from the same register as the repair.

The register is on every plan. How the register works →

The jobs you take in

  • Frame welding and soldering
  • Hinge and screw replacement
  • Nose pad replacement
  • Temple replacement
  • Lens replacement
  • Adjustments
  • Sunglass lens replacement
  • Rimless mount repair

What to write down at the counter

Whatever you use to run your shop, record these before the customer leaves.

  • Frame brand, model, color and material
  • What is broken, and where
  • Scratches on the lenses before you start
  • Whether the lenses stay or are replaced
  • What came with it: case, cloth, loose parts
  • In person or by mail

How a job runs in Spekco

Step 1

A short ticket for a short job

Save your common repairs as templates with their prices. A hinge repair is checked in with the customer's name and the frame.

Step 2

Note the lenses before you start

Attach a photo of the lenses to the ticket. A scratch that was there at drop-off is on record at pickup.

Step 3

Repairs by mail

Spekco has a mail-in workflow: a shipping label for the customer, a scan on arrival, and a tracking number for the return.

Pickup, delivery and dispatch

For the work that does not walk in the door.

Pickup

You collect the item from the customer's address. Spekco checks the address against your service radius and adds the fee to the ticket, flat or per mile.

Delivery

The repaired item goes back to the customer's door in a delivery window you set. The customer can choose the time from a link.

Dispatch

A technician goes to the customer, for a trip fee you set. The customer is asked to confirm the visit, reminded the day before, and told when the technician is on the way, with an arrival time.

All three are on Pro, and each is a setting you turn on for the locations that offer it.

On every plan

  • Service tickets and workflow
  • Point of sale register
  • Customer portal with ticket tracking
  • Online estimate approval and invoice payment
  • Parts and inventory
  • Automated email notifications

The plan that usually fits

Basic, $29.99 a month

One bench fits Basic: two staff accounts and 25 tickets a month included, then $0.20 each. Past about 175 tickets a month, Pro costs less.

What it does not do

Spekco does not store prescriptions or bill vision insurance. It is for repair, not dispensing.
