Home & Appliance

Software for smart home installers

Ticket workflow automation and a fully integrated point of sale, in one system.

An installer sells the device and the hour it takes to fit it, in the customer's home. Spekco puts both on one ticket and, on Pro, books the visit and tells the customer when you are on the way.

Workflow automation

You do the repair. The ticket does the telling.

One visit, from the phone call to the payment. No message typed.

  • On a long repair, Spekco can send progress updates by itself, so the customer does not have to call and ask.
  • Finish a repair now and schedule the status change: the ticket moves, and the customer is told, at the time you choose.
  • Every notification is included on every plan. There is no charge per message.
  • On Pro, the follow-up runs too: a message after the repair, a reminder when service is due, and an invitation to customers who have not been back.
  1. 1. You book the visit from your Thermostat Install template

The ticket fills in with its parts, labor, checklist and trip fee. The customer is sent the time and asked to confirm it.

  2. 2. The day before, you do nothing

The customer is reminded of the visit.

  3. 3. The technician taps On my way

The customer is told who is coming and when.

  4. 4. You send the estimate

They approve it online, and the approval is recorded on the ticket.

  5. 5. You send the invoice

They pay online from the link in it, and are emailed a receipt.

Booking a visit uses dispatch, which is on Pro.

Integrated point of sale

One register for the repair and the sale

A thermostat and the labor to fit it are one sale, on one receipt.

  • The repair is paid at the same register that sells your products. There is no second system, and nothing is typed twice.
  • A part fitted on a repair and a product sold at the counter come off the same stock count.
  • From the ticket, one button takes you to the register with the balance already in the sale.
  • When the work is done at the customer's address, the invoice goes to them with a link, and they pay online. Nobody drives back to collect.

Thermostats, locks, doorbells and cameras sell from the same register, on the same stock count, as the ones you install.

The register is on every plan. How the register works →

The jobs you go out to

  • Smart thermostat installation
  • Smart lock installation
  • Video doorbell installation
  • Camera setup
  • Hub and network setup
  • Speaker and display setup
  • Replacing a failed device
  • Fixing devices that drop offline

What to ask on the phone

Whatever you use to run your business, find these out before anyone sets off.

  • The address, and who will be home
  • Each device, its brand and where it goes
  • What is wired there now: thermostat wires, doorbell transformer
  • Whether the customer has their Wi-Fi password and account logins to hand
  • The phone the customer will control it from
  • Devices they already own that it has to work with

How a job runs in Spekco

Step 1

The device and the labor on one estimate

Put the lock, the doorbell and the labor on one estimate and send it by email. The customer approves it online before you order anything.

Step 2

A visit the customer has agreed to

On Pro, book the install as a Dispatch visit. The customer is asked to confirm the time, reminded the day before, and told when you are on the way.

Step 3

What you fitted, on record

List each device on the ticket with its serial number. When a lock stops answering in a year, what was installed and when is on the customer's record.

Pickup, delivery and dispatch

For the work that does not walk in the door.

Pickup

You collect the item from the customer's address. Spekco checks the address against your service radius and adds the fee to the ticket, flat or per mile.

Delivery

The repaired item goes back to the customer's door in a delivery window you set. The customer can choose the time from a link.

Dispatch

A technician goes to the customer, for a trip fee you set. The customer is asked to confirm the visit, reminded the day before, and told when the technician is on the way, with an arrival time.

All three are on Pro, and each is a setting you turn on for the locations that offer it.

On every plan

  • Service tickets and workflow
  • Point of sale register
  • Customer portal with ticket tracking
  • Online estimate approval and invoice payment
  • Parts and inventory
  • Automated email notifications

The plan that usually fits

Pro, $59.99 a month

An installer books visits. That needs dispatch, which is on Pro: $59.99 a month, with 25 staff accounts and 250 tickets a month included.

What it does not do

Spekco does not connect to a device or to its maker's account. It records what you installed; it cannot see whether it is online.

Questions

Can I sell the device and the installation together?
Yes. A ticket holds products from your stock and labor lines, and both are on the invoice.
Can the customer pay after the install without my going back?
Yes. The invoice is sent with a link, and the customer pays online, on every plan.
Can I keep a record of what I installed in each home?
Yes. Devices and serial numbers stay on the ticket and on the customer's record.
