Musical & Specialty Equipment
Software for audio equipment repair shops
Ticket workflow automation and a fully integrated point of sale, in one system.
Audio repair is diagnosis at component level, often on equipment older than the technician. Spekco keeps the bench notes, the estimate and the parts on the ticket, and the owner informed while you wait for them.

Workflow automation
You do the repair. The ticket does the telling.
One amplifier, from the counter to the register. Five things you did, and no message typed.
- On a long repair, Spekco can send progress updates by itself, so the customer does not have to call and ask.
- Finish a repair now and schedule the status change: the ticket moves, and the customer is told, at the time you choose.
- Every notification is included on every plan. There is no charge per message.
- On Pro, the follow-up runs too: a message after the repair, a reminder when service is due, and an invitation to customers who have not been back.
1. You pick your Amplifier Repair template
The ticket fills in with its parts, labor and checklist. The customer is emailed that you have their amplifier, with a page where they can follow it.
2. You set the status to Waiting on Parts
They are told you are waiting on the output transistors.
3. You send the estimate
They approve it online, and the approval is recorded on the ticket.
4. You set the status to Ready for Pickup
They are told their amplifier is ready.
5. You take the payment at the register
They are emailed a receipt.
Integrated point of sale
One register for the repair and the sale
An amplifier repair and a set of cables are one sale, on one receipt.
- The repair is paid at the same register that sells your products. There is no second system, and nothing is typed twice.
- A part fitted on a repair and a product sold at the counter come off the same stock count.
- From the ticket, one button takes you to the register with the balance already in the sale.
Cables, styli, belts and refurbished equipment sell from the same register as the repair.
The register is on every plan. How the register works →

What to write down at the counter
Whatever you use to run your shop, record these before the customer leaves.
- Make, model and serial number
- The fault, and whether it comes and goes
- What came with it: power cord, cartridge, remote
- Damage to the case and the controls, with photos
- Whether anyone has worked on it before
- How much the owner will spend before you must call
How a job runs in Spekco
Step 1
Bench notes that stay with the unit
Write what you measured and what you replaced in the ticket's notes. The next technician, or you in two years, starts from what was found.
Step 2
A bench fee, then an estimate
Take the bench fee as a deposit at check-in, and send the estimate by email after diagnosis. The customer approves or declines online.
Step 3
Parts that have to be found
Set the ticket to Waiting for Parts and post an update when the part is located. The owner reads it in their portal.
Pickup, delivery and dispatch
For the work that does not walk in the door.
Pickup
You collect the item from the customer's address. Spekco checks the address against your service radius and adds the fee to the ticket, flat or per mile.
Delivery
The repaired item goes back to the customer's door in a delivery window you set. The customer can choose the time from a link.
Dispatch
A technician goes to the customer, for a trip fee you set. The customer is asked to confirm the visit, reminded the day before, and told when the technician is on the way, with an arrival time.
All three are on Pro, and each is a setting you turn on for the locations that offer it.
On every plan
- Service tickets and workflow

- Parts and inventory
- Automated email notifications
The plan that usually fits
Basic, $29.99 a month
A specialist bench fits Basic: two staff accounts and 25 tickets a month included, then $0.20 each. Selling refurbished equipment online needs the online shop, which is on Pro.
Questions
- Can I keep technical notes the customer does not see?
- Yes. Mark a note as internal and it is never shown to the customer.
- Can I charge a bench fee up front?
- Yes. Take it as a deposit against the ticket. It is credited when the repair is invoiced.
- Do you handle repairs sent in by mail?
- Yes. Spekco has a mail-in workflow with shipping labels and tracking in both directions.
