Software for tool repair shops
Ticket workflow automation and a fully integrated point of sale, in one system.
A contractor drops off six tools at once and needs three of them by Monday. Spekco gives each tool its own ticket under one customer, so each has its own estimate, its own status and its own answer.

Workflow automation
You do the repair. The ticket does the telling.
One drill, from the counter to the register. Five things you did, and no message typed.
- On a long repair, Spekco can send progress updates by itself, so the customer does not have to call and ask.
- Finish a repair now and schedule the status change: the ticket moves, and the customer is told, at the time you choose.
- Every notification is included on every plan. There is no charge per message.
- On Pro, the follow-up runs too: a message after the repair, a reminder when service is due, and an invitation to customers who have not been back.
1. You pick your Drill Repair template
The ticket fills in with its parts, labor and checklist. The customer is emailed that you have their drill, with a page where they can follow it.
2. You set the status to Waiting on Parts
They are told you are waiting on a switch.
3. You send the estimate
They approve it online, and the approval is recorded on the ticket.
4. You set the status to Ready for Pickup
They are told their drill is ready.
5. You take the payment at the register
They are emailed a receipt.
Integrated point of sale
One register for the repair and the sale
A drill repair and a box of bits are one sale, on one receipt.
- The repair is paid at the same register that sells your products. There is no second system, and nothing is typed twice.
- A part fitted on a repair and a product sold at the counter come off the same stock count.
- From the ticket, one button takes you to the register with the balance already in the sale.
Blades, bits, batteries and accessories sell from the same register as the repair.
The register is on every plan. How the register works →
The jobs you take in
- Cordless tool diagnostics
- Brush and switch replacement
- Cord replacement
- Nailer rebuilds
- Compressor service
- Battery testing

- Pressure washer pump repair
What to write down at the counter
Whatever you use to run your shop, record these before the customer leaves.
- Make, model and serial number
- The battery and charger, if they were left
- The owner's markings on the tool
- Date of purchase, if it may be under warranty
- What it does wrong
- How much the customer will spend before you must call
How a job runs in Spekco
Step 1
Six tools, six tickets, one customer
Each tool is its own ticket on the contractor's record. They can approve three repairs, decline two and ask about the last, all online.
Step 2
Ask before the repair costs more than the tool
Send the estimate by email. A declined repair is recorded, charged its bench fee at the register, and the tool goes back.
Step 3
Brushes and switches in stock
Parts used on a ticket come off your count. You are warned when a part falls below the minimum you set.
Pickup, delivery and dispatch
For the work that does not walk in the door.
Pickup
You collect the item from the customer's address. Spekco checks the address against your service radius and adds the fee to the ticket, flat or per mile.
Delivery
The repaired item goes back to the customer's door in a delivery window you set. The customer can choose the time from a link.
Dispatch
A technician goes to the customer, for a trip fee you set. The customer is asked to confirm the visit, reminded the day before, and told when the technician is on the way, with an arrival time.
All three are on Pro, and each is a setting you turn on for the locations that offer it.
On every plan
- Service tickets and workflow
- Point of sale register
- Customer portal with ticket tracking
- Online estimate approval and invoice payment
- Parts and inventory
- Automated email notifications
The plan that usually fits
Basic, $29.99 a month
A repair counter with two people fits Basic: 25 tickets a month included, then $0.20 each. Remember that six tools are six tickets; past about 175 a month, Pro costs less.
What it does not do
Spekco has no manufacturer's parts diagrams. You find the part number with your supplier and add the part to the ticket.
Questions
- Can one customer have several open repairs?
- Yes. Each tool is a ticket, and all of them are listed on the customer's record and in their portal.
- Can I charge a bench fee when a repair is declined?
- Yes. Ring the fee up at the register against the ticket, and close it.
- Can I record the date of purchase for warranty work?
- Yes. Add it as a field on the ticket.
